And just how many glad points do you all have? Im on 74 and trying to grind 100, and believe me that isnt goin to happen unless i rage quit groups with wammos.
Even better, how about implementing a code that penalises wammos, flare spammers, and mending bonders?
I would /sign for that.

One problem I see here is implimenting a penalty will just increase leeching. If you were gonna get penalized for leaving, I would just stay and do whatever I had to do when I come back, where, if I left, the team might win, and I would get replaced by someone who might play.

There could be a number of preferences to select.
That way if someone quits, it's okay because they didn't quit for not getting the type of group they wanted. They left because of a possible number of legitimate reasons.

And if you happen to join a team that has *dundundunnnnn* a dreaded wammo, but they are on the brink of their 10th win in a streak? Doesn't bother you at all to ruin their day and their chance at points.
I know, I know, "honor" doesn't exist in a game. O wait, what was that word again? Sportsmanship? Aaah k, doesn't apply here. Nvm.

You know, leaving a team just because one of the players is W/Mo is probably the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Just because a player is set to W/Mo doesn't mean they are an idiot.
My Scarlet Raven is currently W/Mo, mainly because I like to have a hard rez in some areas. (No, RA is not one of those areas!!!!!), but I'm not changing my 2ndary just because I'm in RA. Even though I'm set to W/Mo, usually my entire skillbar is Warrior. If I want to run a build that includes a few skills from a different profession, I'll change, otherwise I'm not bothering to change it.
If someone is pre-judging me based only on my profession combo and not on my playing skills then they are the "stupid noob", not me.

Hm... they could bring back the option to remove the secondary, like in Nightfall preview... they see W, and not W/Any and...
...nope... people should still play, if they are in random arenas, they'll face random players, if they want a balanced team, they should go to Team Arenas...
Don't you think?

Funny... So how will you call a situation- 2 noobs leave before the gates open so its 2vs4... No hopes, right?
Well- *dundundunnnnn*
http://img485.imageshack.us/img485/9821/gw153bp7.jpg
Just me and restoration Rit to whom I /bow- great rit Haruldis Maximilis ^^
Other team had a monk, ranger, necro and something else...
It's assa and rit vs regular (seems good) team
And, damn, regular team loses :/
(Oh, and btw, of those 2 who left Ithink it was Alkaline who left 1st- way to go...)
Conclusion?
It's not that "there are no chances of winning", "without Monk I can't get 10 wins", "I don't play with wammos", "Some guys left first" etc
No, it's totally not that
Ppl who think like that just...
Just suck...
No, really and totally
They're bad players... intelligence means also getting along with unexpected situation- like 2vs4 -_-
So, no more crap about whether there is or isn't chance of winning unless you try, ok?

It does... it totally does, the fact that just some ppl don't have honour doesn't mean it doesn't exist in GW, even in RA

okok, no need to shout!!! ><

No, I was speaking generally... because I still see leavers in RA, I call them leavers and they reply "I love u too"
/sigh...

To me RA is a place to relax, i dont have to use particular professions and builds, just hit enter battle and i can play
If i have like 20min before dinner i wont spend 15 in changing my build, finding a party in HA and play 5min before i log off, will you?
It just pisses me off when i (and many people) just want to have some fun and the ragequitters ragequit even before you enter the game. Whats worse is that when one leaves, there will be the 2nd and the 3rd. So what can you do? Rush like a rambo and die under 5 seconds? I dont see it as "relax"

You're opposition has two monks and your team has no spike power
Both teams have two monks
The enemy has a monk and a touch ranger, and your idiot teammates insist on trying to kill the lifestealing, self healing ranger who also gets healing from the monk for 5 minutes
Irl reasons
Computer crashes
You have an Afker
Somebody doesnt load and your team sucks
your team is the one in 100 that enters the guild wars hall of fame of suckage (think 3 stance tanks or something)
you see the tag [iQ] on all four members and your team has no monk
you enter ta
a party member refuses to play cause he's a dick
you're a monk and you accidently put all your attributes in smite
halfway into the battle, you and your team simply agree you will not get a single kill
its 1 to 4 and your team has gotten no kills yet
the list goes on.
So I am proud to say I leave about one in 5 of my starting matches, and about one in 20 of my streaks
|
Maybe you didn't realize he said Leaves in the first 1 min of the battle. If you leave after you have tried to kill the enemy for a little bit then you can leave if you never get any kills. But you should still try and go for a kill first, instread of leaving right away.

I think it is BS that people play Random Arena because they don't have skill. I think they play it because it is a form of PvP on demand. I go in and push the "Enter Mission" button and in 10-20 seconds I am in!
Every other form of PvP takes a while to get into and for people who do not have the time, it is a great alternative. It is also great for just messing around in a setting where people are less likely to care. So what if the average player isn't that great? If you don't like it, don't play it.

for those ppl who think no monk = no win.... watch my video.... its been up a while, just hadnt linked it here....
RA No Monk
you will see a few teams with monk that we tune up, and a few teams with rage quitters that actually gave us trouble with just 3....
note, we had 0 healing except for some self healing... 3/4 players were PVE (i belive from conversations with them... been a little while though)
Point is... dont just quit cause u think u know everyones build... note our RT wasnt healing, or spirit spammer (seen alot of quiters cause rt not running either of those builds)... note we had a WA/EL... (that is latest fad.. war/ele, has 0 healing so they quite with no monk)
**note all ppl on my party said i could put their name in video, and enemies names cannot be made out... this video isnt to talk trash or such in any way, it is just proof that it isnt impossible, or even that difficult to get 10 wins with total random builds**

but first of all there should be a time limit on skirmishes.
i only leave when matches carry on for more than 20 minutes cos of too many monks in the game. a RA game should never last more than 20 minutes anyway.

It's a place to "practice" builds that should be later used in ORGANIZED forms of PvP, or a place to gain faction. You aren't in a tournament when you enter RA so relax. I know it is sometimes frustrating but please understand RA has a long history of quitters and noobs and it always will. =/

You do realize that there are other ways for you to swing your blade without inconveniencing people in RA... it's called Isle of the Nameless. You said that it's a place to "practice" builds, and gain faction... (you left out working on your Glad title, by the way) and you were doing neither. I'd love to hear you say it's not a big deal when you're in a good group on match #10 and someone leaves.
That being said, I'm not sure exactly what would be best to do about it, but I do agree that it would be nice if something could be done. Perhaps it could be required that you attempt to resign before you can leave?

Why would you get a rage quitter in a good group on match #10?

^^^ ive had it... ive been 7 or so wins deep with a team and we loose 1 guy for unknown reasons... and with the race to rage quit, ppl join in then leave before u can even tell them ur on a run...
And the best... is when u tell the person the 3 of u r 7 wins deep... and they say, "ok, bye" because why stay for 3 wins to help the rest of the ppl get a glad point, when u wont get one at the same time........

I just think a VoD should be implemented instead so I never have to deal with 1h matches again...
